Lime Dosing Cabinet
Compact equipment integration balancing chemical compatibility, maintenance access, pipe routing, fabrication constraints and operator usability.
Mechanical Engineer
I design practical mechanical systems from concept through manufacture, installation and real-world operation.
I’m a mechanical engineer who enjoys turning ideas into practical, well-considered designs. My experience covers industrial mechanical systems, fluid handling and dosing equipment, with work spanning concept development, 3D modelling, detailed drawings and component selection through to installation and commissioning.
What I enjoy most is the connection between design and real-world performance. I like understanding why a system behaves the way it does, working through the details and finding improvements that make it more reliable, easier to manufacture or simpler to maintain. Working alongside workshop and site teams has shaped the way I approach design, keeping access, assembly and everyday use in mind.
Outside engineering, I enjoy active sports, strength training and travelling, especially the chance to experience different cultures and discover new places. I also have a particular interest in automotive technology, motorsports and product development, and how mechanical ideas become practical products.
Autodesk Inventor (advanced) and SolidWorks.
Mechanical system design, 3D assemblies, manufacturing drawings, GD&T and DFM/DFA principles.
Pressure and flow calculations, component sizing, pump and valve selection, and chemical compatibility.
Sheet metal, stainless steel, plastics and composites including carbon fibre and fibreglass.
Technical specifications, BOM creation and management, version control and PLM workflows.
Installation support, commissioning, inspections, pressure testing and mechanical troubleshooting.
Act as the company’s primary mechanical engineer for day-to-day project delivery, taking ownership of projects from initial concept through detailed design, manufacture, installation and commissioning. Work independently, with director-level engineering review where required.
Design and develop mechanical assemblies and fluid handling systems for industrial chemical dosing applications using Autodesk Inventor. Produce general arrangements, manufacturing drawings and assembly documentation incorporating GD&T principles.
Develop technical specifications, select pumps, valves and hoses, and carry out pressure, flow and sizing calculations. Support fabrication, installation and commissioning through to inspections and pressure testing.
Troubleshoot operating issues in dosing systems, then refine pipework layouts, supports and hose sizing to improve reliability, pump priming and powder transfer.
Modelled aircraft components and assemblies in 3D CAD and produced manufacturing and assembly drawings. Assisted with composite structural layouts and supported prototype assembly and mechanical testing.
Supported construction project delivery through progress monitoring, material procurement and quality assurance. Helped coordinate site teams and clients, prepare tenders and report project status.
Mechanical design, system integration and practical problem-solving, from industrial dosing equipment to an academic vehicle concept.
Compact equipment integration balancing chemical compatibility, maintenance access, pipe routing, fabrication constraints and operator usability.
Liquid polymer batching and dosing systems, with pipework improvements to resolve pump priming issues and simplify assembly and installation.
Mechanical design of ferric sulphate dosing packages for water-treatment applications.
A team project to design a polymer batching and dosing system for a nuclear decommissioning application.
